Compete in 2026
The Women's Decathlon World Championships offers four divisions — from elite international competitors to first-time participants. Find your place.
The Divisions
Which division is right for you?
Elite Women's Decathlon
The main event. Athletes competing in the Elite division are vying for the title of World's Greatest Athlete — the same title the men's decathlon has crowned for over a century, now open to women.
Elite entry is by qualification or invitation. Meet any one of the following criteria (marks from January 1, 2025 onward):
- Decathlon score of 6,200 points or higher
- Heptathlon score of 5,000 points or higher
- Combined marks of 2,150+ points across running, jumping, and throwing events — can come from different competitions
- Invitation from the organizing committee
Qualifying athletes apply via Google Form. Don't meet the standard? You may still express interest — or register for the Open division, which is open to all.
Apply via Google Form →Open Girls and Women's Decathlon
Open to all abilities and ages. No qualifying standard. First-come, first-served — slots are limited.
Compete in all 10 events over two days. Throwing implements and pole vault poles are provided. Athletes requiring youth or masters implements are encouraged to bring their own — reach out if you need help.
Register on RunSignUp →The Try-athlon
Never competed in a combined event before? Totally new to track and field? The Try-athlon is your entry point — one running, one jumping, and one throwing event per day. Coaching provided, all equipment included. You just show up.
Coaches will guide you through a warm-up and instruct you on each event before you compete to get a mark. Athletes of all backgrounds, experience levels, ages, and abilities are welcome.
Day 1 — August 8
Long jump · Shot put · 100m sprint
Day 2 — August 9
